Lenarda died Monday, May 21, 2012, at the Good Samaritan Center in Bloomfield.

Lenarda Helen (Brummer) Grimm, daughter of Ray and Cecilia (Schumacher) Brummer, was born May 18, 1934, at rural Crofton, Nebraska. Lenarda attended parochial school in the Crofton and Bloomfield areas, and country school near Bloomfield. She left school and went to work when her father developed health problems. To help support her family, she did farm labor and worked at the grocery store owned by Jack Cosberg. Prior to her marriage, she also worked at the Council Oak grocery store in Bloomfield.

On September 4, 1956, Lenarda married Wilbur W. Grimm at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Bloomfield. They were blessed with two daughters, Celine and Rita. Lenarda and Wilbur farmed and raised their family near Crofton and Lindy. Lenarda worked as a census taker and as a seasonal employee at Gurney’s. She also served as the bookkeeper for Husker Pig Coop for 32 years.

Lenarda was a 4-H leader and served on the election board, St. Andrew’s Altar Society, American Legion Auxiliary, Lindy Area Inc., and Lindy Ambulance Squad. She had a big garden, raised chickens, and was a skilled seamstress. Lenarda enjoyed crocheting, her feline friends, flowers, embroidery, crossword puzzles, reading, and staying current on news and issues. She loved spending time with her family, especially her great-grandchildren. Lenarda passed away at the age of 78 on May 21, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society-Bloomfield after a long battle with heart disease.

Lenarda leaves to mourn her passing her husband, Wilbur W.
